KUALA LUMPUR, July 2 - Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan said police will definitely investigate a report lodged by Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim yesterday which mentioned his name.
"I don't want to make any comment on the matter. Let the probe be carried out on the allegation made by Anwar Ibrahim," he told reporters here today.
Anwar yesterday lodged a report at the Selangor Contingent Police Headquarters against Musa and Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail, alleging that the two men had purportedly hidden facts and falsified information on the case involving the physical assault on him by former IGP Tan Sri Rahim Noor in Sept 1998.
When asked whether he would lodge a police report on the allegation against him by Anwar, Musa replied: "What for? Let the police investigate."
Musa also declined to comment when asked on the allegation by the family of Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, the complainant who lodged the police report alleging that he was sodomised by Anwar, that they were instructed not to contact him (Musa) concerning the report.
