RPK: Six sources on Shafee

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 14 — Raja Petra Kamaruddin claims he has six informants to back his allegations that Datuk Muhammad Shafee Abdullah is behind the recent sodomy allegations against Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Writing in Malaysia Today, the blog that he edits, he stated that three of them are Datuks who were present in the meeting room at Shafee's office along with a police officer named Aziz.

"They saw the whiteboard and listened to the conversation between Aziz and his three or four police officers. The whiteboard had Anwar Ibrahim's and my name on it with notes, charts and scribblings below it. And Aziz and his police officers mentioned Anwar's and my name many times with sodomy the main topic of discussion," he wrote in this evening's post.

"I also have other witnesses who told me how Shafee bragged about how he is behind the sodomy allegation against Anwar and about how he is going to fix Anwar up. He also bragged that he is going to be appointed the next Attorney-General and that he will be selling off his law firm once that happens," he continued in the article.

The Kuala Lumpur High Court yesterday directed RPK in an ex-parte injunction to reveal his sources for allegations made in three online articles against Shafee who has filed a defamation suit against the controversial blogger over the articles which accuses the prominent lawyer of masterminding Sodomy II accusations against opposition leader Anwar.

RPK also stated that he would never reveal his sources: "They trust me enough to tell me all those things because they know I will go to jail rather than finger them. And that is why I am able to get information no one else can.

"Even if I produce 100 witnesses who will swear on their mother's grave that what I said and wrote is true I will still end up in jail. And if I am going to be sent to jail anyway, why sacrifice my Deep Throats? Once I expose even just one of my Deep Throats, no one will come forward any more after this,” he added.

Justice Tee Ah Sing had granted several injunctions, the first of which directs RPK to remove the articles from Malaysia Today within two days as well as to remove any other follow-up articles and comments posted by visitors. It also compels him to reveal the identities of commenters on the three articles and restrains RPK or his agents from further publishing the disputed articles or any other articles, journals, letters, comments, posts and statements that are defamatory of Shafee on the web portal or any third party websites.
